Putting the web site together was fun.Everything was there from the Yahoo site that brother George created, just organized differently.

School Story:

Freshman year, 1972 I came to FIT on a Pennsylvanian student loan. I bought a new, shiny red surfboard and then couldn’t afford the meal plan. So I learned to live off the land, catching fish, collecting grapefruit, oranges, and the like. That first year was hard, both emotionally and scholastically. Back then; you could take as many classes as you wanted for one-fee. I toured the jungle late at night, bleary from my physics and advanced chemistry homework and played the blues harp at various pagodas. To help pay for tuition and rent, I took jobs offered by the school. First was the cafeteria as a dishwasher then a few months later I transitioned to the maintenance shop. FIT owned some houses off of University Avenue and I was sent to fix screen doors and do minor repairs. Then the big job came. Build a covered bridge. From scratch, a handful of us sank the timbers into the jungle’s muck and then raised the lumber. My two specialties were nailing the floorboards and making the rafter pieces. When that was finished, I found work at the bookstore. Does anyone remember Mr. Zimmerman, the manager? Well, it took me 6 years to complete my undergraduate degree in Ocean Engineering. A third of the cost came from student loans, a third from my mother, and a third from work. DDT Brothers were always there for me; they brought me into their lives, shared stories, and offered compassion. FIT was the glue, offering an excellent education and providing work in a sleepy little Florida town where jobs were hard to come by. My first job out of school was at Kennedy Space Center. DDT brother John Horan spoke for me and got me an interview. FIT prepared me well. I was thrilled! My salary was $12k/year in 1979. My loans were paid off in 2 years and I had a blast.

Oh my... I've been asleep at the wheel. Here it is April 9th and I am just getting to the stats.
Much fewer than 13 of us logged in March. Many days went by with no one, even me checking in.
If that wasn't bad enough, we have an anniversary coming on the 13th, Sunday.

To each and everyone, please forgive.

Hear ye, hear ye.... mark your calendars for a DDT 2025 Fellowship Zoom. When? February 12th at 6 PM EST.
Why? Because we can and it's been awhile. What to bring? Your most memorable story about DDT Fellowship. We did something similar with video interviews now posted on the website. Remember Hooper's recall of the 'shaving cream wars? https://vimeo.com/151451741 password is "ddtRules". Other videos on the left side of the web site menu under "Videos".

I will send this link in an email to catch those that don't look at the web site. Everyone is invited. There is no limit on the Zoom but we may wrap up at 7 PM.

Well, hope to see a good turn out on the 12th.

Hear ye, Hear ye. The honorable Al Yee Litt is hear-by invited to a DDT Zoom event on January 1st at 6 PM EST (5 PM CST). The link will be in another message. If this date or time does not agree with Al (Alfred, Alf, Uncle Al, Gung Gung, etc.), the Zoom will change. So mark your calendar and stay tuned for the next posting. A January 2025 DDT Zoom for all!

Now the stats for December 2024. I haven't posted any for the last few months because of poor health. But I'm back in the chair and rolling merrily along, that is when my chair's axle doesn't break. You may have heard the saying "Two is one and one is none". I'm in my backup now and soon to have my main chair under my rump. Oh I digress.

Well, here we are. It's July and time for the monthly web site stats. We didn't have many visit the site in June. There were six. We were bound to have a month like this. 2024

Hurricane predictions are not good for us Floridians. I don't want to hear "Man the life boats"anytime this year.

This is the short list of June DDT-ers.... Thanks to all and a shout out to Uncle Ray
