Don Hooper left us on this day in 2016. He was my pledge brother and friend. Some of you wrote heartfelt memories to him and his family. You can revisit these and others who passed on our "In Memory" page. He also left us with a great story via a video with Nick. Hoop is on my mind today and all visions have him smiling. God Bless everyone, everyday.

Well, Christmas came to all yesterday and today is the aftermath. I bought a levitating moon on a whim a few weeks ago. The add drew me in. Not only would it "float" above its stand but it would have an internal light that received its power from the base. Oh my, how cool is that? Wait, there's more.. . .the moon would spin. As much as Cheryl and I tried, we could not set the moon on its levitating base. The strong magnetic field would join the globe to the base's corners. Christmas dinner yesterday was with Cheryl, her son, and me. I asked him to try setting the moon to levitate. He got it in only 3 attempts. This is another example of human skills failing us as we get older. Now I just have to have him come over whenever we have a power outage to reset the moon. Enjoy the short video

Hi everyone. . . Cheryl and I returned last night from a 2,400 mile road trip that put us mostly in Florida. We are both healthy and self-quarantining now. The link above is from our 2008 reunion. It's nice to revisit and remember that all of you are growing older but me, I haven't changed at all. :)

Drones & Trains. . . I'm sharing a video from a few days ago. Cheryl and I are on the road and practicing safe precautions as we travel. These are her grandsons. The train is a 1954 "American Flyer". I used my DJI Mavic Pro drone for some of the footage. Our goal is to visit her 98 year old mom through windows at her nursing home in Boyton Beach, FL before returning to Maryland. This video takes place in Mt. Pleasant SC. And now, your moment of Zen...

Hey everyone. . . George Poidamni has a birthday this month, Nov 28th. I'll be traveling so this info might help you and hopefully make George smile. Seems George decided a while back to take himself off this site. I don't have his email but here is his address. An old fashioned Birthday card would cheer anyone's spirits, eh? Hope everyone has a thankful Thanksgiving 2020. Even though I lost my best friend Bill Hoppe recently, I am thankfu

Sometimes I read a sentence that makes me go " Huh? " and go back three or four times. Check this out. . .
“We construct a robust qubit embedded in a decoherence-protected subspace, obtained by applying microwave dressing to a clock transition of the ground-state electron spin of a silicon carbide divacancy defect,” the researchers sum up in the paper, published last week in Science.

Just a thought. . . .
I don't like making plans for the day. Because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around the courtroom. -anonymous
