Putting the web site together was fun.Everything was there from the Yahoo site that brother George created, just organized differently.

School Story:

Freshman year, 1972 I came to FIT on a Pennsylvanian student loan. I bought a new, shiny red surfboard and then couldn’t afford the meal plan. So I learned to live off the land, catching fish, collecting grapefruit, oranges, and the like. That first year was hard, both emotionally and scholastically. Back then; you could take as many classes as you wanted for one-fee. I toured the jungle late at night, bleary from my physics and advanced chemistry homework and played the blues harp at various pagodas. To help pay for tuition and rent, I took jobs offered by the school. First was the cafeteria as a dishwasher then a few months later I transitioned to the maintenance shop. FIT owned some houses off of University Avenue and I was sent to fix screen doors and do minor repairs. Then the big job came. Build a covered bridge. From scratch, a handful of us sank the timbers into the jungle’s muck and then raised the lumber. My two specialties were nailing the floorboards and making the rafter pieces. When that was finished, I found work at the bookstore. Does anyone remember Mr. Zimmerman, the manager? Well, it took me 6 years to complete my undergraduate degree in Ocean Engineering. A third of the cost came from student loans, a third from my mother, and a third from work. DDT Brothers were always there for me; they brought me into their lives, shared stories, and offered compassion. FIT was the glue, offering an excellent education and providing work in a sleepy little Florida town where jobs were hard to come by. My first job out of school was at Kennedy Space Center. DDT brother John Horan spoke for me and got me an interview. FIT prepared me well. I was thrilled! My salary was $12k/year in 1979. My loans were paid off in 2 years and I had a blast.

Sometimes I read a sentence that makes me go " Huh? " and go back three or four times. Check this out. . .
“We construct a robust qubit embedded in a decoherence-protected subspace, obtained by applying microwave dressing to a clock transition of the ground-state electron spin of a silicon carbide divacancy defect,” the researchers sum up in the paper, published last week in Science.

. . . and if the Big Bang series were running, Sheldon would have solved this when he was 11

Just a thought. . . .

I don't like making plans for the day. Because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around the courtroom. -anonymous

Old Man's Perspective:

When I was a boy,
my momma would send me
down to a corner store
with $1 and I'd come back
with 5 potatoes,
2 loaves of bread,
3 bottles of milk, a hunk of
cheese, a box of tea and 6 eggs.
You can't do that now ...
Too many security cameras.

Mike,

We're in the cloud! Yeah! Our migration is complete.

Please take a moment right now to click around your web site and make sure everything looks and works as you expect. Should you experience any difficulties please let us know right away.

You may notice your site pages load faster than ever before. The entire Class Creator system is also more secure now than ever before. And get this: Not only do we have full systems backups like we did previously, we now also have built-in redundancy. This basically means future down time should be minimal.

All kinds of other technical tweaks and improvements were made during this migration as well. These tech improvements put a huge smile on the faces of all the IT

... May statistics are in. Our site went down for almost a week and may be back 100%. The effort involved migrating to more secure and faster servers. This was beyond my control and I thank everyone for their patience. Let me know directly if you have problems with the site. My email is "clarkmn@me.com".
